The Police Federation of England and Wales (PPEW) have been exposed to a malware attack earlier in March.
The attack was first noticed on March 9, and was quickly nullified and isolated so the attack was unable to spread throughout the 43 police forces in England and Wales which employs more than 119,000 police officers. It’s believed that only Surrey Police Department has been impacted by the attack that used malicious software to affect some databases. However, the attack has resulted in substantial of loss.
