More than 1,000 domains are now better protected!

By Shehzad Mirza

In keeping with our mantra “Do Something. Measure It.” GCA kicked off its first solution to mitigate systemic cyber risk just one year after being established as an organization. In October 2016, GCA released a DMARC Setup Guide to ease the burden of implementing DMARC and help organizations protect their organizations from email fraud. The Setup Guide performs a scan of a domain to check for SPF/DKIM/DMARC and provides step-by-step guidance on how to create SPF/DKIM/DMARC records.

Since October, the site has been visited 7,735 times from 5,027 users in 122 countries and 2,057 cities. Of those visits, 4,988 unique domains were used on the site, and 1,039 of those domains have enabled a correct DMARC policy after visiting the Setup Guide.  That is a 20.8% implementation rate in just 7 months!!

The above graphic indicates the number of entities which implemented DMARC for each policy.

We strongly encourage people to use our DMARC Setup Guide (which is now available in multiple languages) and take advantage of the many resources we have available to assist with DMARC implementation and ensure use of the reporting capability of DMARC.  There is a lot of valuable information for an organization’s IT and security staff in those reports.
